This work was inspired by the painting "The Dreamer" by Maxfield Parish. The detail in the face and body were created by matting, painting and firing the large glass pieces. Stars were sandblasted into flashed glass in the sky. |

In the late 1800's, Louis Comfort Tiffany established his studio in New York. The existing work of his studio is prized today by collectors. Restoration of the work of the Tiffany Studio, as with any collectible, must be undertaken with the greatest care to retention of all of the original glass. Louis Comfort Tiffany manufactured all of his own glass. Although similar glass is available today, specifically manufactured for Tiffany reproduction, every piece of glass must be retained. If broken, every piece is assembled and epoxied to recreate the original piece. Thus, the authenticity of the piece is retained. |
